This stunning 2 piece silver plated teapot which is by renowned silversmith James Dixon & Sons is marked to the base with it”s registered design number of 559544 .

This rare teapot which has a detachable lid and is part of James Dixon”s Simple Yet Perfect range. These teapots have a unique design so they can be turned onto their side supports to brew the pot of tea and then turned back to pour by holding the top handle.

A wonderful and rare design that would make a great addition to a teapot collection.

JAMES DIXON AND SONS SYP PATENT TEAPOT Electro Plated Brittania Metal Mark on teapot is a Trumpet and Banner and reads: JAMES DIXON AND SONS SHEFFIELD PATENT TRADE S.Y.P. MARK TEAPOT EPBM NO 7 2 Rd No 559544 The lid has the mark: TRADE PATENT SYP TEAPOT MARK CHISWICK LONDON SYP stands for Simple Yet Perfect. This unusual and attractive teapot has slight wear and tarnishing, with a couple of very shallow indentations.

One side is more dimpled than the other.
